This is a praarthana/mangaLa SlOkam by Sri Mallinatha Suri (Pundit Mallinatha) in the beginning of his commentary (vyaakhyaanam) of RaghuvamSa mahaakaavyam of Mahakavi Kalidasa.

Meaning:
Oh Mother Vaani (Saraswati)! I take refuge at your divine feet, which enliven the entire universe (comprised of moving and stationary entities.) With your loving glances (through the edges of your eyes = 'kaTaaksha') overflowing with compassion, uplift me so that I will be one among the lot who have accomplished their purpose (kRtaartha)!
