SlOkam from aruNaachala maahaatmyam, Skanda Puranam.
Meaning: darSanam (of Nataraja Swamy in) the resplendent celestial court ('chit sabha' or 'kanaka sabha' = Chidambaram), birth in the abode of kamala (Tiruvarur, the place of Lord Tyagaraja (Siva) and Goddess Kamalamba temple), death in Kasi result in liberation, while remembering aruNaachalam itself results in liberation!

There is a slight mis-interpretation people make of this SlOkam. "By mere thinking about aruNaachalam one is liberated," they say. But the case of the 4 kshEtram-s mentioned (saptamI vibhakti) indicates, "in the respective kshEtram-s."
So, "smaraNa (including naama smaraNa, aatma vichaaram) done in the aruNaachala kshEtram bestows liberation" is the correct interpretation of this SlOkam.
This is not to say that thinking "about aruNaachalam" is any less. In fact, thinking about the kshEtram makes us oriented towards it.
